DialogWorks was founded in 2000, initially focused on email marketing. Since then we've done many different things and a core key ingredient of it all is dialog - the dialog between an organization and its customers or constituents and the data, technologies and analysis that enable it.

Jim Kelly - Founder, Principal Consultant

Jim Kelly leads the DialogWorks team. Jim has created and managed marketing programs and technology projects for companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 500 companies and non-profit organizations.

DialogWorks' network of experts allows us to bring in the right people and skills for each client. Each of these people bring significant talent and experience to their particular fields of expertise and, just as importantly, are just plain good people to work with. Paula Rivers - Program and Operations Consultant

Paula has over 20 years of experience growing online businesses. She is skilled at helping organizations quickly hone their strategy, determine a realistic ROI and then craft and execute rapid implementation plans. Her experience spans diverse online revenue models including SaaS, ecommerce, online advertising, licensing and affiliate programs. Paula offers strategic guidance and roll-up-your-sleeves support on everything from identifying and launching new online product offerings to conceptualizing and managing key online marketing initiatives to evaluating program or product impact. Paula also spent time in the non-profit sector as COO of GreatSchools. More recently she has been working with GreatSchools to provide a 360 impact analysis for their GreatSchools Local Programs. Paula received her B.S. in Political Science from the University of Michigan and her M.B.A. at Columbia University in New York City.

Kelly Quirke - Nonprofit Management Consultant

Kelly served as Executive Director of Friends of the Urban Forest (FUF) in San Francisco for four and half years. FUF is a community-building organization that has planted more than 42,000 trees along the streets of every San Francisco neighborhood since 1981.

Kelly is also the former Executive Director of Rainforest Action Network (RAN). For over seven years prior to joining RAN, Kelly campaigned at Greenpeace, finishing his tenure there as the national coordinator of Greenpeace’s U.S. Temperate Forest campaign. Before that, he worked on Greenpeace’s Offshore Oil, Energy and Climate campaigns. As the national coordinator of Greenpeace’s public outreach and scientific area of the USA Climate Campaign, Kelly’s work included educating and politicizing the insurance industry regarding the economic and environmental risks and realities of global climate change.

Kelly has served on numerous non-profit boards over the years, and is currently board chair of the Neighborhood Parks Council. He is also on the board of directors of the Hunters Point Family, a community organization working with at-risk youth in San Francisco’s diverse and underserved Bayview-Hunters Point neighborhood. Kelly is active in the San Francisco Bay Area non-violence community, and has been a non-violence trainer for over 20 years. His activism has also included military non-intervention, needle exchange and AIDS-related issues.

Carolyn Brown - Marketing & Communications Strategist

Carolyn Brown develops strategic marketing and communications programs for non-profit organizations, eco-friendly companies and media channels. Her approach draws on a broad range of experience including Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Sustainable Conservation, Flex Your Power, 41pounds.org, Metropolitan Transportation Commission, McDonalds, HealthNet, University of California-Berkeley Water Center, EcoTalk and numerous start-up companies. She served as Bank of America's Vice President for Government Relations, where she co-authored the company's Environmental Principles, and taught communications at the Haas School of Business. She earned an A.B. from Princeton University, and an M.A. in Creative Writing from San Francisco State University.

Sharon Schanzer - Print & Presentation Design

Sharon Schanzer has over 20 years of design and technology experience and is currently the Principal and Creative Director of Red Letter Day, a design studio whose services include design and production of marketing communications collateral, catalogs, signage, trade show graphics, corporate identity materials and both static and animated PowerPoint presentations using Adobe Presenter (formerly Macromedia Breeze). In her career, Sharon has worked for clients that include Adobe, Shaklee, Time Warner Cable, Mercury Interactive, and LifeMasters Supported Selfcare. Sharon attended Carnegie Mellon University.
